As we approach the end of 2015, the development department is working on something new for Historic St. Luke’s. We’re happy to announce our participation in Giving Tuesday. Following on the heels of Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday is a day to give back. I encourage you to check out givingtuesday.org/about to learn how this initiative got started and what effect it’s had since. You can participate by making your year-end gift online on December 1st. Here are some answers to commonly asked questions: 1. Is my gift tax-deductible? Yes. As Historic St. Luke’s Restoration is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, your donation is 100% tax-deductible. 2. Does my donation make me a member? Donations are made separately from memberships. Memberships include benefits, whereas donations are completely tax-deductible. To make a donation, click here. To become a member, click here. 3. What are some suggested donation amounts? We encourage you to consider that Historic St. Luke’s relies solely on donor support to provide tours and to preserve and interpret the rare 17th century historic site we all love so much. If 250 people each gave $100, we would meet this year’s goal! Give today. Give on Giving Tuesday. Support education, promotion, and preservation at Virginia’s Oldest Church building. If you have any questions about Giving Tuesday, online donations, or becoming a member, please contact Laura Adams, Development Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 757-357-3367.
