John Lewis Basnight, age 69, of 15311 New Towne Haven Lane, died Monday, Feb. 26, 1996, in Louise Obici Hospital, Suffolk.
He was a native of Edenton, N.C., and a retired heavy equipment operator from Local (NU)147, Operating Engineers, Norfolk. Mr. Basnight was a member of Benn’s United Methodist Church and an honorary member of Carrollton Ruritan Club. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Gilliam Basnight; two nieces, Robin Basnight of Highland Park, Fla., Vicky Basnight Garrison of Virginia Beach; and a nephew, Charles Basnight of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla…1
